Welcome to the Division of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Louisville. Our faculty, residents, researchers and staff share a commitment to excellent patient care, rigorous education and research that improves clinical practice.
Our specialists provide medical and surgical care for adults and children with conditions affecting the ear, nose, throat, airway, voice and head and neck. Areas of expertise include head and neck oncology, rhinology, otology, laryngology, pediatric otolaryngology and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Education is central to our mission. Through progressive clinical responsibility, surgical experience, didactic instruction and research opportunities, we prepare residents to become skilled, compassionate and thoughtful otolaryngologists.

The division offers a five-year accredited residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery. Residents receive broad clinical and surgical training through rotations, conferences, dissection courses and mentored research experiences across multiple healthcare settings.
Our faculty, residents and research staff conduct basic, clinical and translational studies designed to improve understanding, treatment and outcomes across otolaryngology and communicative disorders. Learners have opportunities to participate in research with faculty mentorship and dedicated research support.
Our multidisciplinary teams provide comprehensive medical and surgical care for children and adults. We work closely with specialists across the health system to develop individualized treatment plans for routine and complex conditions.
