Skull Base Fellowship

Overview

Our Department of Neurological Surgery offers a comprehensive Skull Base Fellowship designed for neurosurgeons seeking advanced training through complex procedures. Fellows will gain extensive experience through hands-on involvement in intricate surgeries, patient care and multidisciplinary outpatient clinics. 

In addition to the clinical duties, the Skull Base Fellow plays an active academic role by contributing to resident education through didactic lectures, anatomical dissections and conference participation. This collaborative environment fosters meaningful discussion, mentorship and growth for both residents and fellows.

Candidates of this fellowship must be board-eligible neurosurgeons with broad exposure to the full spectrum of neurosurgery and significant senior-level clinical experience. Applicants must demonstrate a strong desire to build upon their already acquired skills with a subspecialty focus. 

This twelve-month fellowship, led by Brian Williams, associate professor of neurological surgery, will be spent in a clinical skull base surgery program. The curriculum provides an organized, comprehensive, supervised, full-time educational experience focused on skull base neurosurgery with the goal of preparing the fellow to be a future leader in academic skull base surgery.
