Our Impact

The department's faculty, residents and staff participate in various community programs to increase awareness of mental health issues.

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Louisville

NAMI exists to strengthen families and individuals affected by mental illness through education, support and advocacy. The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences' faculty, residents and staff are proud participants of their events, especially their biggest fundraiser "Step Forward for Mental Health Walk".

Resident Outreach Projects

Many residents in the department participate in local community outreach projects. Most recently, residents and members of the department participated in the Kentuckiana Heart Walk on Saturday, September 21 at the Waterfront Park.

Community Mental Health Agency Support

Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences' faculty provide their time and expertise to various community mental health agencies by serving as board members and participating in special initiatives.
