AHEC Regional Offices

Regional Offices

The Kentucky Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) system is a cooperative venture of the University of Louisville Health Sciences Center and the University of Kentucky Medical Center, along with eight regional centers, each affiliated with an educational institution, health system or clinic.

Through state and federal funding, eight centers, or AHECs, are maintained at strategic locations throughout the Commonwealth.

Each AHEC is responsive to the unique needs of a specific area and is staffed by a center director and discipline-specific staff who assist students and provide information about the region. Each regional office serves as a focal point for all student activities in its designated area. Students from both universities, as well as other training programs, are welcome at any location.
