Research overview
Researchers at the UofL Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences lead groundbreaking basic and translational research focused on ocular diseases, including retinal degeneration, dry eye, autoimmune inflammation and proliferative vitreoretinopathy. Supported by NIH funding and biotech partnerships, our faculty, residents, postdocs and fellows work collaboratively to advance discoveries from the lab to clinical application. Renowned for their scientific contributions, they serve on editorial boards and study sections, continually pushing the boundaries of eye disease treatment and prevention.
