Breast Imaging Fellowship Program

Program Overview

The Department of Radiology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine is pleased to offer this one-year non-ACGME accredited fellowship. This program will prepare you for an exciting career in breast imaging!

Training will be based at the University of Louisville James Graham Brown Breast Care Center located in the heart of downtown Louisville adjacent to the University of Louisville School of Medicine and UofL Health - UofL Hospital.

The Center maintains the American College of Radiology’s “Breast Imaging Center of Excellence” designation.  Our breast imaging radiologists are part of a multidisciplinary team providing diagnosis and treatment plans for breast cancer patients in collaboration with breast surgery, oncology, pathology and radiation oncology.

The program's major rotation sites include University of Louisville James Graham Brown Breast Care Center, with elective experiences at UofL Health - UofL Hospital, Jewish Hospital and the UofL Healthcare Outpatient Center.

Fellowship Application & Interview Process

The program participates in the Breast Imaging Fellowship Match sponsored by the Society of Breast Imaging (SBI). We follow the timeframe established by the NRMP. We have one appointment available for the 2026-2027 academic year. We utilize the SBI universal application. Interviews for the position will be held between January-March 2026.

Only candidates with a complete application will be considered for an interview.

Letters of Recommendation

Please submit three letters of recommendation including one from Program Director of your Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program (or current Program Director, if in fellowship training) and at least two additional LORs.

Please provide a recent professional photograph taken within the last year.

ECFMG Certificate (if applicable)

If a graduate of medical school outside of the United States or Canada, must have a valid ECFMG certificate that is current on the date training begins.
