The Department of Anesthesiology is an outstanding place to work and train. We currently employ over 75 attending anesthesiologists, over 90 CRNAs, 44 residents and 5 fellows.
We proudly provide care for patients at UofL Health - UofL Hospital, UofL Health - Jewish Hospital, the Robley Rex VA Medical Center, UofL Health - Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, UofL Health - Shelbyville and Carroll County Hospitals as well as UofL Health - South Hospital and Medical Center East
We currently offer an anesthesiology residency program in addition to fellowship programs in cardiothoracic anesthesia, chronic pain and critical care. We also partner with the UofL School of Nursing to educate CRNA students.
In 2024, our department was a part of over 42,000 cases, plus endoscopy cases.
Our department has a multitude of ongoing research projects. Our faculty were involved on projects securing over $30 million in funding from federal, state and industry sources over the past five years in addition to producing a total of 274 PubMed indexed publications.
