Chair’s Welcome

Welcome to the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at the University of Louisville.  We are committed to developing superb, independent practitioners equipped with the skills to be leaders in both private practice and academic medicine and the desire to promote the advancement of the medical discipline of Anesthesiology. The volume and complexity of our clinical caseload creates an environment that challenges our residents on a daily basis and develops a skill set that enables our graduates to provide the highest quality care throughout their career. Our faculty are committed to excellence in education that extends from the operating room to the classroom and we aim to promote an atmosphere of scholarly inquiry where our residents are fully engaged in quality improvement, patient safety and scientific pursuits.
