Our department faculty members are active in both clinical and basic science research.

• We have been awarded over $30 million in research grants over the past five years.
• Our department is associated with 274 unique PubMed publications from 2019‐2024.
• We are currently leading clinical COVID research projects on inflammation markers, neuraxial analgesia, resident education/training effects, ARDS therapy and post‐Covid cardiac function.
• Anesthesia faculty member Jiapeng Huang will assume the role of chief scientific officer, UofL Health, and assistant dean of research (clinical and translational) at the UofL School of Medicine this year.
