Overview

At the University of Louisville, we are dedicated to education. Our fully accredited program is shaped by faculty members who are renowned and accessible - examiners for ABOG, current and former presidents of national professional organizations and physicians who have influenced the progress of American OB/GYN over decades. Our faculty is diverse in clinical interests, age, background and geographic origin and is united by a dedication to training the next generation of obstetrician-gynecologists. Our patient population is even more diverse and among them you will have the privilege to hone your clinical skills with emphasis on inclusivity and cultural competence.

Application and Interview Process

Application Procedure

The following information outlines the process for medical students applying for residency beginning July 1, 2026.

 

 

  1. 1
    Residency Centralized Application Service (CAS)

    OBGYN Residency Programs will be participating in ResidencyCAS to:

    • Apply to OBGYN residency programs
    • Signal OBGYN programs
    • Request documents supporting the application, such as transcripts, LORs/SLOEs and USMLE / COMLEX scores
    • Schedule and participate in virtual interviews with programs

    Standardized Letter of Evaluation (SLOE)

    Letters of Recommendation

    All applications should include:

    • One OB/GYN SLOE - this should take the place of a traditional 'Chair's Letter'
    • TWO Narrative LORs - at least one narrative letter reflecting OB/GYN clinical experience is preferred
    • One MSPE

    USLME/COMPLEX Exams

    • USMLE Requirements:
      • To be competitive, a first-time PASS on USMLE Step I and a 225 or above on USMLE Step II are preferred.
      • Results of the USMLE Step II must be received by October 23, 2026 to be considered for an interview.

    Medical School Transcript

    All Applicants must have graduated medical school within the past 5 years of when the next academic year starts. (i.e., for Match 2027 - Graduation date 2022 in order to start 2027.)

     

Stipends & Benefits

Stipends The Graduate Medical Education Office (GME) establishes resident stipends for all departments and divisions prior to the start of each academic year.
