Chair's Welcome

Welcome to the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and Communicative Disorders. We have a long and rich heritage of training otolaryngologists, audiologists and speech-language pathologists. Our graduates have experienced success in private practice and academic venues and we are proud of our training programs.

Located in Louisville, KY, our department has more than 20 nationally and internationally renowned faculty members. We provide advanced care in areas such as pediatric otolaryngology, cochlear implantation, head and neck cancer, airway reconstructive surgery, minimally invasive skull base surgery, microvascular reconstruction, transoral robotic surgery and minimally invasive thyroid and parathyroid surgery and advanced sleep surgery including robotics and hypoglossal nerve stimulation. Our audiology program has a rich training heritage for the AuD degree. Our audiology training and clinical practice spans the spectrum of Pediatric and Adult Care through the Novak Center for Pediatrics and the University of Louisville Healthcare Audiology Practice. Our speech-language pathology program provides extensive patient care and training in inpatient, outpatient and school settings, giving trainees the full gamut of learning opportunities.
