Advancing community health and education

The University of Louisville School of Medicine actively engages with communities through collaborative initiatives that enhance health, education and quality of life. From serving underserved neighborhoods in West Louisville to statewide outreach programs, the School of Medicine fosters partnerships that inspire change and promote equity.

  • Community engagement: 36 local, national and international activities reported in 2023-24.
  • Service hours: Faculty, staff and students contributed over 3,200 hours to improve community health and education.
  • Statewide impact: Seven West Louisville initiatives and five statewide activities supported Kentucky residents.

UofL’s commitment to our students transforms the aspirations of our diverse student body into achievable goals by exposing them to fields like internal medicine, surgery and pediatrics and supporting their development as future physicians.
