Our psychiatry residents were recently recognized on February 27, 2026 as part of the Graduate Medical Education (GME) department’s annual Thank a Resident/Fellow Day. This special occasion dedicated to honoring the dedication, compassion and hard work of resident physicians across all specialties.

Thank a Resident Day is an opportunity to acknowledge the vital contributions residents make every day — providing patient care, advancing their medical education and supporting healthcare teams. Psychiatry residents, in particular, play a critical role in addressing mental health needs and promoting patient well-being across diverse clinical settings.

Events like this foster a culture of gratitude and connection within the institution. By bringing residents together for recognition, the GME department highlights the importance of:

  • Supporting trainee wellness and resilience
  • Celebrating professional growth and achievements
  • Strengthening camaraderie across programs

The gathering showcased the strong sense of community among psychiatry residents and reflected the institution’s commitment to recognizing their efforts.

The GME Office celebrated alongside the trainees throughout the day, sharing this message of gratitude:

"We had so much fun celebrating with you and showing our appreciation for all you do. Hopefully you had a chance to stop in at one of our partner hospitals, enjoy some food and take part in all the festivities... Please know that we truly appreciate you and your hard work. Thank you for being so wonderful!"

As residents continue their training and professional development, moments like Thank a Resident Day serve as meaningful reminders of the impact of their work and the value they bring to patients and colleagues alike.

We are proud to celebrate our psychiatry residents and thank them for their ongoing dedication to excellence in care and education!
