UofL Internal Medicine Awards Day recognizes DOM trainees, faculty

The University of Louisville Department of Medicine and Internal Medicine Residency Program presented the annual Internal Medicine Awards Day, honoring the trainees, faculty and staff who maintained a strong commitment to medical education over the past three years.

"We are thrilled to recognize the outstanding achievements of our learners and teachers in the Department of Medicine as well as to celebrate our core mission of educating the next generation of physicians," Dr. Jennifer Olges, director of the UofL Internal Medicine Residency program said.

Joining Olges were other residency and fellowship directors to honor individual award winners, and to also thank the trainees and wish them well as they continue their medical careers in various academic and private practice opportunities.

This year's awards winners include:

  • Nicholas Hehmann (Resident)

Resident Program In-Training Awards

  • Roarke Swank - PGY-1 Highest Score
  • Emily Converse - PGY-2 Highest Score
  • Kush Patel - PGY-2 Most Improved Score
  • Adam Hoehn - PGY-3 Highest Score
  • Zac Hagemeyer - PGY-3 Most Improved Score

Residency Program Excellence in Teaching Awards

  • Division: General Internal Medicine

  • Fellow: Sara Qutubuddin

Residency Program Awards

  • Emily Hartman - Most Professional Resident
  • Emily Converse- Outstanding PGY-2 Teaching Award

  • Tyler Sharpe - Best General Internal Medicine Teaching Faculty - Hospital Medicine
