UofL internal medicine residency programs have another big Match Day

March 21, 2025

March 21 was a joyous day for fourth-year medical students at the University of Louisville, and it was another successful Match Day for the UofL Internal Medicine Residency and Combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency programs.

Held again at the Angel's Envy Bourbon Club at L&N Cardinal Stadium, Match Day is when prospective medical residents open their envelopes from the National Residency Match Program to find where they had been matched for their future training as residents.

"We are thrilled with our incoming class of interns," Jennifer Olges, M.D., director of the UofL Internal Medicine Residency Program said. "They are a talented bunch, hailing from 19 different medical schools across 11 states and two countries. We can't wait for them to join us in July."

Laura Workman, M.D., director of the Combined Med-Peds Residency Program added, "We are so excited to welcome a great group of med-peds interns to our residency this summer. We can't wait to work with all of them!"

Conducted annually by the NRMP, The Match uses a computerized algorithm designed to the best results by aligning the preferences of applicants with the preferences of residency programs. The results are used to fill thousands of training positions available in the United States.
