Emergency Medicine Residency Training Sites

Our program offers comprehensive training at these four unique facilities.

UofL Health- University Hospital
This serves as our primary training site. This is the region's only adult Level 1 Trauma Center, a comprehensive stroke center, verified burn center, and has 24/7 emergency psychiatric care.

Norton Children's Hospital
Our residents receive comprehensive pediatric training at Norton Children's Hospital. This full-service teaching facility is a pediatric Level 1 Trauma Center. We do rotations here in pediatric EM, PICU, and pediatric anesthesia.

UofL Health - Jewish Hospital
This is our primary community EM site, located in downtown Louisville. It's a comprehensive cardiac center with ECMO capabilities, a world-class hand center, and they have 5 solid-organ transplants. Residents rotate in the ED and CCU.

UofL Health - South Hospital
This rural ED site is located in Bullitt County, Kentucky. It is a hospital with med-surg and ICU capabilities. Here, residents learn to practice EM in an environment without multiple consulting services immediately available.
