Annual Awards recognizes those who have gone above and beyond to support learning

The 2026 pediatric resident graduates recognized the pediatric faculty and clinicians who went above and beyond to support their learning. The recipients of their annual faculty awards were determined by residents’ votes and presented at their graduation ceremony.

This year’s Ancillary Award went to Norton Children’s hematology clinical pharmacist Kyle Harwood, PharmD. Harwood was selected by the graduating class for the support he provided pediatric residents throughout the year.

Julia Sparks was named Clinical Professor of the Year. This award is presented to the faculty member whom residents voted as having the greatest educational impact on the class. She was recognized for her outstanding teaching and dedication to resident education, as well as for demonstrating excellence in clinical care and quality patient care at Norton Children’s Hospital.

Once again, the General Pediatrics Division was voted Division of the Year, an award it has earned for several consecutive years. The division was recognized for its consistent excellence in patient care and resident education and for its effective and meaningful integration with the primary pediatric care team.

The 2026 Dr. J. Scott Robinson Memorial Award went to Becca Hart, associate professor of pediatric emergency medicine. Created in memory of former resident Scott Robinson, who passed away in 2004, the award is presented to an individual who embodies the qualities that made Robinson an inspiration, including compassion, dedication, perseverance, altruism and kindness. Hart was honored for exceeding expectations in supporting residents in both their professional and personal lives.
