Psychiatry residents gather for annual Haloperiball celebration
June 12, 2026
Psychiatry residents from all training levels recently gathered for the program’s annual Haloperiball, an evening dedicated to celebration, connection and community, with attendance from residents alongside program leadership, including the program director and program coordinator, highlighting the strong sense of unity within the department.
Haloperiball offers a valuable opportunity for residents across all stages of training to connect outside of clinical responsibilities, reinforcing mentorship, collaboration and a supportive culture within the program. By stepping away from the daily demands of patient care, residents can break down training silos, allowing junior and senior peers to mingle informally and share the unique, lighthearted humor that defines their specialty's culture. The presence of leadership further underscores the department’s commitment to engagement and relationship-building, while the event itself promotes genuine personal wellness, camaraderie and reflection on shared accomplishments.
As residents continue their rigorous training, gatherings such as Haloperiball play an important role in strengthening morale, fostering community and enhancing the overall residency experience.
