Welcome to the Office of Community Engagement at the School of Medicine, where we are dedicated to fostering meaningful, scholarly collaborative relationships with rural, urban and medically underserved communities.

Our aim is to address the unique healthcare challenges faced by these populations, ensuring that the School of Medicine remains at the forefront of medical education, patient care and research. By fostering strategic partnerships and multidirectional collaboration, we prepare medical practitioners and researchers to provide exceptional, cutting-edge healthcare to meet the complex needs of Kentucky and beyond. 

Our work is guided by an appreciation for the richness that varying perspectives, experiences and backgrounds contribute to the fabric of our community. We strive to cultivate a welcoming and dynamic environment that fosters collaboration, innovation and engagement. Working closely with the HSC Office of Health Equity and Engagement, the Schools of Nursing, Dentistry, Public Health, UL Office of Institutional Equity, Office of Community Engagement and other key university partners, we are creating a responsive healthcare ecosystem that adapts to the evolving demands of our communities while promoting excellence in every aspect of care and training.
