The School of Medicine Office of Faculty Affairs and Advancement plays a crucial role within the Dean's office. The office serves as a vital bridge between the faculty and the administration, ensuring that the academic institution's mission, values and strategic goals are aligned with the needs and aspirations of its academic faculty. Within the School of Medicine and in close partnership with our departments and University offices, some major responsibilities include:
- Onboarding new faculty
- Professional development, support and retention of faculty
- Faculty awards and recognition
- Coordination and support of promotion, appointment and tenure faculty actions
- Support and revision of policies and procedures
- Facilitation of faculty committee elections and business
- Processing of faculty annual reviews, annual work plans and leaves
- Strategic planning and implementation of initiatives pertaining to faculty
- Approval of faculty international travel
