Overview

The University of Louisville Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship is an ACGME-accredited program providing clinical and research training in pediatric endocrinology. The Fellowship includes hands-on clinical experience at Norton Children’s Hospital, UofL Pediatric Endocrinology clinic and the Wendy Novak Diabetes Center. Fellows gain increasing clinical responsibility in their first year, participating in specialty clinics such as the metabolic bone disease clinic, DART clinic for high-risk diabetes and the gender clinic.

In the second and third years, the focus shifts to research, with fellows developing independent projects under faculty guidance. They also have the opportunity to pursue a Master’s degree in clinical investigation, public health, or business administration.

Fellows engage in a variety of educational activities, including case discussions, grand rounds, journal clubs and board review sessions. Monthly and quarterly conferences cover diverse topics like pediatric morbidity and mortality, tumor boards and the multidisciplinary care of disorders of sexual development (DSD). Fellows also take part in a range of specialized conferences such as Pediatric Endocrinology Journal Club and Pediatric Endocrine Board Review.
