Pediatric Forensic Medicine

The Kosair for Kids Division of Pediatric Forensic Medicine is committed to advancing the field of Child Abuse Pediatrics through a comprehensive academic and clinical fellowship program that emphasizes diagnostic excellence, research, education and advocacy. Child Our Child Abuse Fellowship prepares physicians to become expert diagnosticians, compelling medical educators, skilled researchers and tireless advocates for vulnerable children. 

The division plays a vital role in community education, providing essential training to social workers, legal professionals, law enforcement and medical providers to improve early recognition and intervention in cases of child maltreatment. Supported by significant funding from Kosair Charities, our outreach and teaching efforts are designed to build a network of informed professionals who interact with children every day and are empowered to act early. 

Through this multifaceted approach, we are cultivating the next generation of leaders in Pediatric Forensic Medicine while strengthening systems of protection for children across our region.

Fellows are trained to become a diagnostician, motivated researcher, inspired instructor, expert physician witness, tireless child advocate and lifelong physician learner. We foster strong community partnerships to teach early recognition of child maltreatment and promote timely intervention.
