A major development during 2020 was acquisition of laboratory space in the Cardiovascular Innovation Institute helping to advance our department’s clinical and translational research. These state‐of‐the‐art facilities have provided infrastructure needed to support more complex research initiatives and foster collaboration across disciplines, particularly Anesthesiology, Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery. The new lab space has been instrumental in enhancing our research productivity and has positioned the department to pursue more ambitious and groundbreaking projects.
Our residency program has emphasized the importance of integrating research into clinical training, resulting in a significant increase in resident productivity.
