Explore the diverse research taking place across our department — from fundamental molecular discoveries to advanced computational modeling, with the collective goal of improving human health.
Lovely Lab
We study the intersection of genes and the environment, in particular ethanol. We use the zebrafish as our model system and study the impact of gene-ethanol interactions on tissue morphogenesis and development of the facial skeleton.
Rife Magalis Lab
Our research examines pathogen within-host dynamics and global molecular epidemiology. Using advanced omics and evolutionary models with human and animal samples, we characterize viral and bacterial evolution to inform health outcomes.
