Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics - KEIS Mentorship

Overview

The Mentorship portion of our Coaching in Early Intervention Training and Mentorship Program (CEITMP) offers pediatric providers across the state a structured, hands-on opportunity to deepen their expertise in evidence-based coaching practices. Building on foundational knowledge gained during the Discovery phase, mentorship providers begin applying coaching strategies during early intervention visits while being introduced to Kentucky’s Coaching Adherence Rubric. This phase supports providers as they develop confidence in delivering family-centered, routine-based coaching by practicing in real-world settings with the guidance of experienced mentors.

As providers advance to the Fidelity phase, they refine their coaching techniques and demonstrate their ability to consistently implement high-quality coaching with caregivers. Participants develop personalized professional development plans to support continued growth and skill retention in strength-based coaching. Throughout the program, providers have opportunities to showcase their coaching through regular reflections and performance checks, ensuring a strong and sustainable application of coaching practices in early intervention. The Mentorship Program is a meaningful step for pediatric providers who are committed to delivering impactful, family-empowering care across Kentucky.
