Department of Pediatrics names new resident director; promotes 20 faculty members

The University of Louisville School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics announced its 2026 promotions. The list includes seven promoted to professor, which includes three from emergency medicine. Another 11 were promoted to associate professor. Promotions include nearly half of the department’s divisions.

In addition, Sara Multerer will now serve as vice chair for education and faculty development. Most recently, she was the program director for pediatric residency. She took on that role in 2017 after serving as the associate director for pediatric residency for eight years. In addition, Multerer has spent her entire career in medical education. She was the vice chair for education for the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Louisville and practices pediatric hospital medicine. 

Becca Hart, associate professor of pediatric emergency medicine, will now step into the role as pediatric residency program director. Her prior roles included associate program director and director of scholarly activity for the pediatrics residency. 

All promotions are effect July 1, 2026.
