Robert Keskey receives two prestigious research honors

The Department of Surgery is proud to congratulate Robert C. Keskey, assistant professor in the Department of Surgery, on receiving two significant honors recognizing his contributions to clinical and translational research.

Keskey has been selected as a Presidential Research Scholar through the NIGMS-funded Louisville Clinical and Translational Research Center (CTR-D), a prestigious program designed to support emerging leaders in clinical and translational research through mentorship and career development opportunities.

In addition, Keskey has received the 2026 American Association for the Surgery of Trauma (AAST) Research Scholarship. His funded project, "Pathogen Induced Coagulopathy," will explore how the gut microbiota may contribute to bleeding complications in critically ill trauma patients, advancing research at the intersection of trauma, critical care and surgical science.

Keskey specializes in trauma, acute care surgery and surgical critical care. These honors reflect his dedication to advancing surgical science and improving patient outcomes through innovative research.
