Computational Pathology & Artificial Intelligence Research Program

Innovation at the crossroads of medicine, data science and technology.

Program Overview

We are early adopters of digital pathology and artificial intelligence, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to enhance pathology practice. Our infrastructure includes full digitization of FFPE slides, integration with the laboratory information system (LIS), and deployment of the Paige Prostate AI system, providing a foundation for improved diagnostics and streamlined workflows.

To support clinical, educational and research initiatives, we have developed custom applications tailored to our needs. These tools enhance data management, foster collaboration and address key challenges in pathology, empowering users to advance diagnostics, education and research.

Dr. Dibson Gondim, a pathologist with expertise in clinical informatics, data science and programming, leads our computational pathology efforts. His multidisciplinary approach bridges traditional pathology with AI, driving innovation in diagnostics and workflow optimization.

Dr. Gondim's projects focus on applying computational techniques to propel pathology forward, including machine learning, AI-based diagnostics and scalable workflows for large datasets. His contributions are transforming pathology into a data-driven discipline, advancing both clinical and research practices.
