Welcome From Division Chief

We are fortunate to have both a unique and uniquely positioned Division of Pediatric Global Health here at the University of Louisville. Since the early 1990’s our Division has organized and provided support for outreach trips with partner institutions in Romania, Ecuador, Ghana and beyond.

Beginning in 2010, we have primarily focused our attention on our partner hospital and medical school in Tamale, Ghana. In 2023, the University of Louisville joined the Academic Model Providing Access to Healthcare (AMPATH) consortium as the leader of Pediatric engagement for the AMPATH Ghana team. As part of these partnerships, we have coordinated the academic exchange of numerous faculty, fellows and resident physicians between Tamale, Ghana and Louisville. Our division supports clinical care, innovative training initiatives and research with the overarching goal of improving healthcare for vulnerable populations in northern Ghana as well as here in our own backyard in the state of Kentucky.
