Our pediatric Fellows experience diverse rotations, gaining expertise in various specialties while developing skills in clinical care, teaching and research.
- Child Abuse Pediatrics: 6 months
- Child Advocacy Center: 1 month
- Radiology: 0.5 months
- Genetics & Endocrinology: 0.5 months
- Child Psychiatry & Psychology: 0.5 months
- Home of the Innocents: 0.5 months
- Pediatric Surgery: 0.5 months
- Research: 2.5 months
- Child Abuse Pediatrics: 5 months
- Child Advocacy Center: 1 month
- Adolescent Gynecology: 0.5 months
- Hematology: 0.5 months
- Neurosurgery: 0.5 months
- Medical Examiner's Office: 0.5 months
- Ophthalmology: 0.5 months
- Research: 3.5 months
- Child Abuse Pediatrics: 3 months
- Child Advocacy Center: 1 month
- PM&R (Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation): 0.5 months
- Radiology: 0.5 months
- Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics: 0.5 months
- Orthopedics & Biomechanics: 0.5 months
- Research: 6 months
4 weeks per academic year, scheduled during rotations
- Scholarly Project: Presentation of a poster and a draft manuscript by the end of Year 3
- Quality Improvement Project: To be completed by the spring of Year 3

- Child Abuse and Neglect: Diagnosis, Treatment and Evidence by Carol Jenny
- Difficult Conversations by Douglas Stone
- The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down by Anne Fadiman
- Belonging in Patient Care: Read at least one book from a selection related to these issues.
- Multidisciplinary Longitudinal Experience:
- Observation and shadowing in county and commonwealth attorney’s offices, LMPD CACU, DCBS CACU, forensic mental health and more
- Optional visits to the Children’s Advocacy Center of the Bluegrass (Lexington, KY)
- Clinics:
- 5 Bone clinics
- 5 Bleeding Disorder clinics
- 2 PAGE Program clinics
- Pediatric Autopsies: As opportunities arise
- Meetings & Trainings:
- Attend various review panels and policy meetings
- Weekly ECHO lectures and monthly case conferences
- Regular attendance at team meetings, research conferences and hospital task force meetings
- Other Requirements:
- Billing/coding training
- Harvard Implicit Association Testing
