The University of Louisville School of Medicine offers dynamic biomedical research training programs where graduate students engage in cutting-edge research across five departmental programs, working alongside faculty from both basic science and clinical disciplines. Recognized as a Carnegie R1 Research Institution since 2018, University of Louisville continues to see strong growth in research funding and output. Both emerging and well-established research areas are thriving, with strengths in environmental toxicology, spinal cord injury, cardiovascular health, cancer therapeutics, immunogenetics and the role of the microbiome in disease.
