Overview

We offer exceptional fellowship programs designed to develop skilled clinicians, researchers and educators. With a strong focus on clinical expertise, innovative research and personalized mentorship, our programs prepare fellows to excel in academic medicine, private practice and beyond.  

Our fellowships provide extensive hands-on experience in vitreoretinal surgery, medical retina & uveitis and occulofacial plastic and orbital Surgery. Fellows encounter a wide variety of cases, from routine to highly complex, ensuring comprehensive training with varied patient populations.  

Close collaboration with expert faculty fosters a balance of autonomy and guidance, empowering fellows to refine their skills while advancing groundbreaking research. Program Details

Fellowship in Occulofacial Plastic and Orbital Surgery is a two-year ACGME accredited training program designed to provide advanced training.
Rotations
Fellows will perform or assist in approximately 1500 surgical procedures a year. Time will be spent at the UofL Health-UofL Hospital and the acclaimed Kentucky Lions Eye Center, as well as in the private practices of the attending physicians.
Facilities
Our fellowship programs offer cutting-edge facilities, including advanced surgical suites, clinical labs and research spaces. Residents also train at affiliated hospitals, gaining real-world experience in a variety of ophthalmic cases.
