We are deeply committed to academic excellence through research, training and advocacy. Faculty and trainees engage in a wide range of innovative research efforts, from studies on Neonatal Opioid Withdrawal Syndrome to industry-sponsored clinical trials and extramurally funded health services research, all aimed at improving outcomes for the most vulnerable infants. Education is a central pillar of the division, which plays a key role in medical student, resident and fellow education. Faculty actively contribute to scientific discourse at the local, regional, national and international levels. We are recognized leaders in maternal-infant advocacy, with formalized efforts targeting policy change and health equity at multiple levels of society.
