The Hiram C. Polk, Jr., MD Department of Surgery has eight outstanding divisions - General Surgery, Transplant, Pediatric Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapeutics, Colorectal Surgery and Immunotherapy.
General Surgery
Our division emphasizes both broad-based training, as well as specialty training in general surgery, minimally invasive surgery and trauma/critical care.
Surgical Oncology
The Division of Surgical Oncology excels in research, education and patient care, with faculty specializing in cancer of specific organ sites to lead innovative treatment.
Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
Our expert plastic surgeons provide a wide range of basic and complex plastic surgical procedures with an emphasis on safety and technical excellence for our patients and community.
Transplantation
Our division prides itself on providing personalized, patient-centered care with the latest advances in the field while training future leaders in transplant surgery.
Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapeutics
Our division has a tripartite mission that includes the clinical care and services, clinical and translational research and education.
Colorectal Surgery
We specialize in colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel diseases, colorectal and anorectal conditions and have an accredited colorectal surgery fellowship training program.
Pediatric Surgery
Our division cares for the entire spectrum of general pediatric surgical problems and has an ACGME-approved Pediatric Surgery fellowship program.
Immunotherapy
The Division of Immunotherapy is leading the way to improve our understanding of the role of the immune system in the treatment of cancer and other diseases.
