Pediatric Surgery
Sidebar
Overview
The Division of Pediatric Surgery at the University of Louisville is a high-volume, full-spectrum surgical team performing more than 4,500 operative cases annually. Our surgeons provide expert care for a wide range of pediatric conditions—from complex neonatal cases and childhood tumors to trauma and burn injuries.
Housed at Norton Children’s Hospital, a recognized leader in comprehensive pediatric care, our division benefits from a Level I Pediatric Trauma designation and status as a regional Pediatric Cancer Center, both awarded by the American College of Surgeons. Our pediatric oncology patients also have access to national clinical trials through the Children’s Oncology Group.
In addition to clinical excellence, the division is deeply committed to education and leadership. Our faculty actively contribute to international, national and regional initiatives and are fully engaged in training the next generation of pediatric surgeons. This includes teaching medical students and residents, as well as leading our ACGME-accredited Pediatric Surgery fellowship program, which accepts one fellow every two years.
