Research

Our division is advancing pediatric surgery through collaborative, high-impact research to improve outcomes and care across 11 top Midwest children’s hospitals.

Research Overview

We are deeply committed to improving surgical care for children through groundbreaking research and strategic collaboration.

We are proud members of the Midwest Pediatric Surgery Consortium (MWPSC)— a network of pediatric surgery investigators from 11 leading academic children’s hospitals across the Midwest. United by a shared mission, this group conducts high-quality, multi-institutional clinical studies focused on some of the most impactful surgical conditions in pediatric medicine. By working together across institutions, we are able to accelerate research, develop best practices and improve patient outcomes while also reducing healthcare costs. Our close geographic ties and longstanding partnerships allow us to move quickly from idea to implementation.

In addition to our work with MWPSC, we participate in several other multicenter research initiatives supported by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (COT).

Together, our faculty’s research continues to shape the future of pediatric surgery and emergency care — with one goal in mind: delivering better outcomes for children and families.
