Infectious Diseases Services

Our Infectious Diseases Services division delivers advanced care for a broad spectrum of infectious conditions. Our team combines clinical expertise, patient-centered support, and public health awareness to respond to local, national, and global challenges

We provide diagnostic, treatment, and prevention services including management of HIV/AIDS, care for bone and joint infections, travel and vaccine needs, transplant-associated infections, civil surgeon exams, and handling of resistant pathogens. We are dedicated to improving health outcomes through coordinated care, education, and cutting-edge research.

Ryan White Program
The Ryan White Program’s mission is to provide quality, comprehensive medical care, as well as care coordination, to all HIV+ individuals and persons living with AIDS in a 7-county service area surrounding and including Jefferson County.
Bone & Joint Clinic
This Clinic manages patients with osteomyelitis, prosthetic joint infections and other bone and joint infections. To achieve comprehensive care and quality performance, our experts collaborate with UofL Physicians in orthopedic surgery and podiatry.
General ID Clinic
Specialists in the General Infectious Diseases Clinic manage infectious diseases such as pneumonia, Influenza, other emerging respiratory pathogens, tick-borne diseases and healthcare-associated infections due to multidrug-resistant organisms.
Vaccine & International Travel Clinic
Health issues can occur anywhere in the world, at any time. The UofL Vaccine & International Travel Clinic specializes in adult and adolescent infectious diseases and vaccines, infection prevention and control and public and global health.
Civil Surgeon Clinic
Our Civil Surgeon Program helps refugees, immigrants and their families take the first steps in applying for a green card. We provide completion of I-693 and other government forms, a physical exam, vaccines and testing for TB and other conditions.
Transplant ID
Specialists in Transplant ID manage patients follow patients through the course of having a bone marrow (or stem cell) transplant or a solid organ transplant. They also manage patients getting a TILS procedure.
