About Us

Divisions
The University of Louisville Department of Medicine houses 12 divisions with approximately 200 faculty and over 150 staff serving four hospitals in the Louisville metro area.
Academics & Programs
We train hundreds of medical students, residents and fellows each year at UofL Hospital and the VAMC. Our training programs shape compassionate physicians, primed for careers in hospital medicine, primary care and internal medicine subspecialties.
Research
Members of the University of Louisville Department of Medicine are working hard in labs and clinics producing novel and groundbreaking research to benefit the health and well-being of the world community.
Community
The UofL Department of Medicine is part of UofL Health, the largest, multi-specialty physician practice in Louisville with more than 78 sub-specialties and 700 primary care and specialty physicians who are also professors and researchers at UofL.
