Professional and Educational Development

The Office of Professional and Educational Development at the University of Louisville exists to engageequip and inspire all Health Sciences Center faculty to be learner-focused and to excel in teaching and academic leadership. Our office does this by creating a variety of innovative, cutting-edge program offerings that utilize the best of what learning science has to offer.  These include an asynchronous online library of modules for CME credit, a biweekly podcast, Faculty Feed, certificate and Masters degree-granting programs in Health Professions Education, in-person workshops, a monthly Educator Grand Rounds series and so much more.

We also direct the School of Medicine’s Continuing Medical Education program, providing UofL and other physicians with CME credits for educational programming. We are applying for and anticipate being able to provide interprofessional continuing education credits for a range of providers as of the summer of 2025 through new accreditation with the Joint Accreditation organization. We are committed to the professional growth of HSC faculty with the ever-present goal of providing a learner-centric approach as we train the next generation of providers and leaders in medicinenursingdentistry and public health.
