Our comprehensive program prepares internal medicine physicians for subspecialty board certification through advanced, hands‑on clinical experience.
Led by Sri Prakash L. Mokshagundam, division chief and professor of medicine, our division is a driving force in educating the next generation of clinicians. Residents in Internal Medicine, Neurology, Med-Peds and Family Medicine receive exceptional didactic and clinical instruction from our expert faculty, and medical students gain immersive exposure through rotations in both clinical and research settings.
Our team conducts innovative basic and clinical research, leveraging molecular and cellular biology, human physiology and clinical trials to advance new therapeutic approaches.
As leading consultants in Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes, our specialists provide state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment services across UofL Health - UofL Hospital, the Robley Rex Veterans Affairs Medical Center, UofL Health - Jewish Hospital, UofL Health - Frazier Rehabilitation Institute and Norton Hospital. Outpatient care is available at the UofL Physicians Outpatient Center and the Louisville VA Medical Center.
We diagnose and treat the full spectrum of endocrine disorders, including diseases of the pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal glands and gonads, as well as diabetes, hypoglycemia, dyslipidemia and metabolic bone disease such as osteoporosis.
