We focus on Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) core competencies to provide excellent patient care, acquire a thorough knowledge base of the practice along with practice-based learning and improvement, interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism and systems-based practice.

Fellows in training gain further experience by rotating through many of the other Louisville hospitals.

Our faculty provide unique individual mentoring for continued growth of internal medicine skills, development of gastroenterological cognitive/procedural skills and clinical/bench research in subspecialty areas of nutrition, IBD, hepatology, gastrointestinal motility, therapeutic endoscopy, endoscopic ultrasonography and liver transplantation.

Program Details

We teach core competencies in patient care, knowledge, skills, professionalism with mentoring in gastroenterology and research.
